    Application Procedure

    • Application Surfaces

      Surface Preparation :
      • The application surface should be dry, clean, sound and dust free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues that impair the surface smoothness should be scraped from the application surface.
      • When used as leveling plaster; the surface defects, which are deeper than 1 cm, should be repaired with MegaTamir I or MegaTamir K 24 hours in advance. In the cases, where structural repair mortar should be used; MegaTamir I Yapısal or MegaTamir K Yapısal should be preferred.

      Application Methods :

      • Mantotherm Sıva Harcı should be applied to all surfaces at equal thickness with a steel trowel.
      • Mantotherm Donatı Filesi should, following the application of the primary coat of Mantotherm Sıva Harcı, be placed into the plaster by stretching the mesh thoroughly and applying slight pressure thereon from top to bottom, preventing any foldings.
      • The joints of Mantotherm Donatı Filesi should be superpositioned by 10 cm in order to prevent the formation of cracks. In the event the corner profiles are mesh-free; the glass-fiber mesh should be turned by minimum 20 cm on the corners.
      • The primary coat with mesh should be let dewater slightly before the application of the secondary coat.
      • The surface will have become ready for the finishing coat applications minimum 7 days after the secondary coat plaster application.

      Application Recommendations :
      • The painting application should not be initiated before minimum 7 days following the mineral based lined texture decorative coating application.
      • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any mortar, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application.
      • Any such foreign substance as lime, cement or plaster should not be added to the mortar prepared.
      • Any extra water should not be added to the mixture.
      • The surface should, subsequent to application, be protected from water and frost until it dries completely.
      • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing.
      • Due care should be taken to ensure that the material is not exposed to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions, and the product should be mixed with cold water.
      • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance.
      • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours.

      Surface and Ambient Temperature
      The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +30°C whilst at application.
