Usage Areas

• MegaIzo Lastik 15 S105 is used as a waterproofing material, being suitable for light pedestrian traffic, for all structures, especially for terrace roofs, which are intended not to be coated with another coating material and for the balconies the waterproofing of the exterior facades of buildings. It is suitable for use on horizontal and vertical surfaces of indoors and outdoors spaces.

    Mixing RatioThe powder component (20 kg) and the liquid component (8 kg) should be thoroughly mixed.

    Mixing Period
    Mixing with a low speed mixer should be continuously done by slowly adding the powder component into the liquid component. The components should be mixed until it gets homogenous without any dry dust or lump left.The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation.

    Equipment Cleaning
    The equipment used should be cleaned with water following the application before the product dries.

    ConsumptionRecommended consumption amount for 2 mm film thickness; 3.0 – 3.8 kg/m². The said values may vary, depending on the surface and ambient conditions.

    Application Procedure

    • Application Surfaces:
      Indoors and Outdoors Walls;
      • Cement based plaster (MegaFilm A201 or MegaFilm A901 primer applied)
      • Concrete (MegaFilm A201, MegaFilm A901 or MegaFilm BB A204 primer applied)
      Indoors and Outdoors Floors;
      • Cement based trowel coating (MegaFilm A201 or MegaFilm A901 primer applied)
      • Concrete (MegaFilm A201, MegaFilm A901 or MegaFilm BB A204 primer applied)

      Surface Preparation:
      • Application surfaces should be sound, clean, dust-free, and free from molding oils and other foreign substances. Such materials as mortar and cement residues should be peeled off.
      • The surface defects, which are deeper than 1 cm, should be repaired with MegaTamir İ T101 or MegaTamir K T102 6 – 8 hours in advance. In the cases, where structural repair mortar should be used; MegaTamir İ Yapısal T103 or MegaTamir K Yapısal T104 should be preferred.
      • Edge and corner joints should be beveled with MegaTamir İ T101 and MegaTamir K T102 repair mortars in order for the maintenance of waterproofing.
      • In the cases, where beveling is not performed; Megaİzo Bant S901 should be applied to such inadequately waterproof spots as edge and corner joint spots in order to ensure the maintenance of insulation.
      • Upon the completion of the surface cleaning, MegaFilm A201 primer should be applied in a single coat with a brush and be left to dry for 1 to 2 hours in order to enhance the bonding strength and stabilize the surface absorption.
      • For dusting surfaces, MegaFilm A901 should be applied and left to dry for minimum 4 hours.
      • Exposed concrete surfaces should be applied MegaFilm BB A204 exposed concrete primer in single coat and be left to dry for minimum 3 hours prior to the application of the adhesive mortar in order to enhance the adhesion strength.

      Application Methods:
      • Megaİzo Lastik 15 S105 product, for which the mixture has been prepared, must be applied on the surface in at least two layers with dry film thickness of 2 mm. The application of the second layer and the layers after that must be made after the first layer is fully dry and in perpendicular direction to the previous application.
      • Depending on the nature of the application surface; the secondary coat may be applied after the placement of Megaİzo File S902 on the primary coat. In the cases, where net reinforcement is necessary; the net shall be laid on the primary coat before it dries.
      • For coating processes over isolation on grounds where water proofing is done, use C2 and S1/S2 class adhesive with high performance according to TS EN 12004 standards.

      Application Recommendations:
      • In order to prevent risk of formation of cracks on wide area applications, suitable joint cuttings (crack control joint, plaster strip joints etc.) should have been done. If there are any present dilatation joints on the construction, these joint should be continued.
      • Apply suitable sealing compound for the joint gaps. Apply MegaIzo Bant DL S908 over the sealing compound at the dilatation joints and cover with MegaIzo Lastik 15 S105.
      • Due care must be taken to ensure that the insulation material is not damaged by mechanical impacts in the cases of coating over the insulation.
      • The product should not be applied against negative water pressure.
      • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any product, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application.
      • Any foreign material should not be added into the product’s components of the product during the application.
      • The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion.
      • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application.
      • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing.
      • Due care should be given to prevent the exposure of the material to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions.
      • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance.
      • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours.

      Surface and Ambient Temperature
      The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C whilst at application.
