Product Advantages
• The product can be mixed with a filling agent up to the rate of 1:1
• Low viscosity; easily penetrates the capillary gaps on the surface.
• High penetration ability.
• High adhesive power.
• High mechanical impact resistance.
• Solvent-free, environmentally friendly.
Usage Areas
MegaFilm A504; is used as a primer material on cement based alum and concrete surfaces in waterproofing applications, on areas based on the ground, in areas with moisture barriers in order to meet the requirements of the waterproofing regulations in the buildings. It is used indoors, on horizontal and vertical surfaces.
Technical Informations
- Application Surfaces
Indoor Areas Grounds;
• Cement based alum
• Concrete
Indoor Areas Walls;
• Cement based plaster
• ConcreteSurface Preparation :
• Waterproofing applications should be carried out in order to meet the requirements of “Waterproofing Directive for Buildings” in areas based on the ground and moisture barriers should be established on all application surfaces.
• The application surface should be dry, clean, sound and dust-free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues should be scraped off from the application surface.
• Before application of the primer to the surface, a porous surface should be created on the upper layer of the surface by using surface abrasive equipment (shotblast, rototiger, etc.). The dust created should be cleaned with industrial vacuum cleaner.
• The minimum compressive strength of the abraded concrete surface should be 25 N/mm² and the tensile strength should be minimum 1.5N/mm².
• Make sure that surface moisture, relative humidity and dew point requirements are met before the application. Otherwise, the desired performance criteria cannot be met due to carbonation reaction on the surface.
• Moisture content of the surface should be maximum 4%. • Relative moisture should be maximum 80%.
• In order to prevent the formation of condensation, the dew point should be above +3°C before the application.
• New concrete structures should be allowed to dry for a minimum of 28 days.
• Repairs of surface defects with depths higher than 1 cm should be carried out with MegaTamirEpo T501 or MegaTamir EpoGrout T502 6 to 8 hours in advance.Application Methods :
• Mixed MegaFilm A504 should be poured onto the surface and applied with a roller or trowel until a seamless layer is formed.
• A second coat of MegaFilm A504 should be applied depending on the porosity of the surface.Application Recommendations :
• Materials to be used in order to reduce the negative effects of thermal differences should be brought to the application area 24 hours in advance.
• It should be considered that the pot life and workable period of epoxy based products may decrease and increase depending on the ambient humidity and temperature.
• Before applying the topcoat, it must be ensured that the primer application is suitable for pedestrian traffic.
• Ambient temperature and humidity should be kept under control while opening the area to pedestrian traffic.
• The mixture should never be made manually.
• Smoothness should be ensured throughout the application to prevent water accumulation.
• The product should be used within the pot life after mixing. Products with expired pot lives should not be used during the application.
• No application should be made on unstable surfaces. The stability and bearing of old surfaces should be checked before the application.
• The surface must be protected from air currents before, during and after the application; it should be protected from contact with water and condensation for 24 hours.
• It should not be applied on surfaces with the danger of frost, or that are frosted or are unfreezing within 24 hours.
• Direct sunlight exposure to the material should be prevented.
• No application should be made on surfaces with extreme windy conditions or are hot due to exposure to sunlight; if application is mandatory on such surfaces, the medium and surface should be prepared for the application.
• Please call our technical support line for different surface applications. (PHONE: +90 444 4 595)Surface and Ambient Temperature
Surface and ambient temperature should be between +10°C and +30°C.
• If deemed as necessary, the area should be heated with electric heaters. Use of combustion system heaters is not recommended due to risk of contamination of the surface. - Performance
These values were obtained through experiments carried out under laboratory conditions; at 23±2°C and at 50±5% relative humidity. The values provided in the table may vary according to surface and ambient conditions.
