Usage Areas

• MegaZemin SL20 is used on such spaces exposed to pedestrian traffic, the cement based surfaces and concrete slabs in order to form a smooth and contraction free floor with high surface quality prior to the pavement of flooring materials (such as ceramic, PVC, carpet and parquet). It is suitable for use on horizontal surfaces of indoors and outdoors spaces.

    Application Procedure

    • Application Surfaces
      Indoors and Outdoors Floors;
      Cement based floors (MegaFilm primer applied)
      Concrete (MegaFilm or MegaFilm BB primer applied)

      Surface Preparation :
      • The application surface should be dry, clean, sound and dust-free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues should be scraped from the application surface.
      • The surface defects, which are deeper than 2 cm, should be repaired with MegaTamiz I or MegaTamir K 24 hours in advance. In the cases, where structural repair mortar should be used; MegaTamir I Yapisal or MegaTamir K Yapisal may be preferred.
      • Upon the completion of the repair process, MegaFilm primer should be applied in a single coat with a brush and be left to dry for 1 to 2 hours in order to enhance the adherence and stabilize the surface absorption.
      • Exposed concrete surfaces should be applied MegaFilm BB exposed concrete primer in single coat and be left to dry for minimum 3 hours prior to the application of the adhesive mortar in order to enhance the adhesion strength.

      Application Methods :
      • The mixture should be poured on the surface, on which MegaFilm primer has been applied, and be left to spread autogenously. The thickness of the layer should be adjusted with a plain trowel and depth gauge bead.
      • Spiked roller should be employed or spiked shoes should be worn during the application in order to eliminate any air bubbles within the product and to facilitate the spreading.
      • The mixture can spread autogenously within the first 15 to 20 minutes and should, therefore, be applied to the floor within the said period of time.
      • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application. In the cases of application on surfaces with floor heating, the heating system should be shut down 24 hours beforehand.
      • In application on surfaces with under-floor heating, the heating system must be turned off 24 hours prior to the application.

      Application Recommendations :
      • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any mortar, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application.
      • Any foreign material should not be added into the product during the application.
      • Any extra water should not be added to the mixture.
      • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application.
      • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 6-8 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing.
      • Due care should be given to prevent the exposure of the material to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions.
      • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance.
      • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours.

      The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C whilst at application.
